Transdermal estrogen therapy offers a significant option for menopause management. We will discuss current variations in transdermal therapy, including advantages and disadvantages compared to the oral route of administration, and how to identify appropriate candidates for its use. |

Dr. James A. Simon, director of this site, felt this was valuable information to pass on about Avandia, a drug for diabetics. (Feb. 23, 2010)---FDA notified healthcare professional and patients that it is reviewing the primary data from a large, long-term clinical study, RECORD, on possible cardiovascular risks with the diabetes drug, Avandia (rosiglitazone). In addition to the clinical trial, a number of observational studies of the cardiovascular safety of rosiglitazone have been published and FDA has been reviewing these on an ongoing basis. |

(WHI). Although this is a reanalysis of a study that has already been
published, the press release from the (Lancet) Journal, and the
Today Show dismally failed to put this scary report into perspective.
